"Let's see what they have to offer". Lol.
Kennedy is heading into the afterlife, NOT Dylan!!!
Lmao. "Black Irishman". That's a drink right there... - Ah yes. I'll have a "black Irishman" please...
Sit Still!
This is probably her greatest era. She was fearless. She sounded like a million bucks. Age take its toll on everyone, especially singers. I saw her many years later at an outdoor Chicago ven. Even though she was confined to sitting because of her amputations, she kept exploring new vocal varieties on her old hits. One of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
"Me and Julio down by the schoolyard." Paul Simon
FYI it wasn't just Ronnie (the singer) that went to listen to Curtis Loew. Guitarist Gary went too, I think maybe all the Skynyrd kids were fans & visited Curtis sometimes. Also Curtis Loew wasn't a real name, Ronnie chose it to fit in w/ the music, & the last name Loew he got from the nearby Loew's theatre where the guys went to the movies, & he used the name "Loew" mainly because it was easy to rhyme when he wrote the lyrics. Hey this is vital stuff, man...
One of the best sing a long songs of all time LOL
Thank you for doing this gem of a song !
You need to listen to the live version with his wife
Thanks Uncle Ted. Love this song. But I never her history.
Lead singer was from Olatha Kansas
This one just makes me smile. Hat off to the doctor! 🔥
Jestofunk come from Milan/Italy. The group was formed in '92 by dj MozArt and dj blade
The whole album is amazing. One of the best. And Jeff buckleys live at sin e had 2 songs from this album on it. That says it all
Morrison had swagger.
The audio and picture unfortunately are out of synch. That can be fixed but don’t ask me how.
This is AFROBEAT.
You missed Robert Johnson , he launched the 27 club. A pioneer of blues. Also, jimi learned playing from his mouth from blues artists before him. In his part of the world in the early days talent was so rampant you were a scrub if you couldnt play with your teeth
Have you seen Ella's and Karen Carpenter doing a medley together in 1980? Ella couldn't stand due to leg problems but her voice was silk as usual. Magic with two legends having fun.
Where'd you find this one? HOLY SMOKES! I didn't know he played that on the DC show!!!
When this song came out southern newspapers referred to black males - regardless of age - as boys. (While white women were called "ladies," black females were called "women.") Every time I listen to this song I here his defience as he reminds everyone he is a MAAHN.
i just realized how the piano sounds so similar to ray manzarek solos
4 cornered room was also awesome, as are you 2 fine young men, great review, too!
i loved the charm at end
Loved WAR. They were very special. Loved The Cisco Kid. EVERYBODY loved this tune.cause it was totally irresistible.
Skynyrd over Allman Bros?... not a 2nd thought for me. witnessed the Bros at Watkins Glenn and elsewhere a few times never was entranced by Skynyrd who I consider to be much more "pop oriented". sorry to offend. Allman Brothers, Tucker, Leon ruled country rock. I pray to my creator for their souls and what they have given to me. Many blessings to their survivors.
such enjoyment. glad to discover you two! :)
This is Morris Day and The Time associated song…not Prince bro…although he wrote it and gave it to Morris to perform.
LAWD! These concerts during the late 70’s early 80’s😂😂it is simply by the grace of our Creator that I am still here today vibing with you guys…the things we put into our systems during this period🤦🏽♀️(if you know, you know😜😉)
Don’t forget “The Love We Had Stays on my Mind”…another gem…takes me back those basement parties my Momma forbid me to go to😂😂
If you can’t vibe with Roy Ayers…something must be wrong with you😁
Ned from Spain. Mighty late to this party but I love hearing ANY reaction about Scott Walker. A fantastic, unique, innovative, courageous performer with a superb voice and composition skills. This is from Scott 4 which the musical press hated and his own label Phillips mishandled as it could've easily been a classic on it's original release. There are two bass legends given credit for this by various people one is Herbie " Walk on the Wild Side" Flowers which is possible but the other is Dave Richmond who actually said that although he didn't know what the song was called at the time, he recognized his own playing and bass sound ! I wonder if we'll ever know.... Thanks for the groovy video. BTW the drums are slick on this too.
Candy is from Netherlands. Her dad, Hans Dulfer, was a very famous Dutch Saxaphonist. Candy began playing sax at age 6, learning basics from her dad, then learning on her own as she grew up. She started her band “Funky Stuff” (in the video), when she was just 13 yrs. old. There’s a lot more about her and who she’s collaborated with, like Prince and many more famous artists. I love her music! The song, EVERYTIME, is a real romantic vibe.
beautiful film. my favorite. great reaction.
Not the first time I've seen you guys. Insightful -- and fun.
David Bowie was the first White Man invited on Soul Train in the 70s.
John’s just giving his opinion.
oh no was a mean and devious person. She was not good for John or his wife or son or friends. She was a controlling person who pretended to be so sweet.
Those lyrics were very Powerful back then and still resonate today🎸♨️💯
Al is a legend and not just in the black community. My little white mama was in love with Al and we were raised on his music.
Super Bad brother ❤
Glad you got the 'preacher' aspect. He oddly reminds me of my dad (Baptist preacher) in this performance.
Billy Powell can mos def tickle the fucking ivory- Try 'Honky Tonk Nighttime Man'
The Spinners could do no wrong in the 70’s…
His “poisoning” was the result of how people lived in those days.
Good to see Sir Nose getting some deserved attention... Now check out 'Never buy Texas from a cowboy'
I think it's one of the greatest tracks I've ever heard.
